A Confessional ?

Had lunch with my hometown friend Desiderata Chong at Lingam's (yes, thats right) Curry House in Seremban today. He suggested that perhaps its a "confessional" of sorts that today's NST (no, not the New Shit Times) front paged its editorial with the banner headline 'Get on with the job".

"Enough is enough," it said. Very strange coming from the UMNO owned rag.

Read the editorial in full and readers' comments, here.

I rather thought that its a bit late in the day now that the Barisan Nasional's nightmares have just begun.

  1. Dear Freedom Fighters, both Online & Offline...

I have been supporting the boycott the newspapers initiative for sometime & I have done my push & pull marketing rather we'll around my circle of family, friends & contacts. A few have stopped buying, some don't already. A lot whom still want to purchase the papers, I passed on the info - which was the worst in all mediums & urged them to switch to the least worst. For English papers, the worst was the The Star (Spinning & BN coverage). Data can be found on the People's Parliament.

Now, the story. I have noticed that some, are still purchasing the newspapers, especially "The Star" every now & then, especially on Saturday's for... "The Recruitment Section!"

So, I urge all those whom support this cause to pass the word. Only get your recruitment information online. Do not purchase the msm & even browse through it.

PR & others (mid-long term effort), get more beginner computer classes up. Teaching people to use the comp, get the news, browse & apply for jobs, using the email, etc. Keep the fees very low, give it free to the very poor, catch the young, educate! PR, set up a IT centre in the poor areas, with news printed out & pasted there regularly. Put up a few PCs with internet connections for the poor to share & use for free during office hours.

Check out MT article "My Version of the Truth" by RPK, for some related info.

    Thanks, please pass the word!

  3. Bro -- we had runch for 3 persons -- fella mariner promptus needs mu(c)sho prompting to get ashore, eh!:)

Both of us must attend confession2 -- we still buy the NST once a w'ile -- I have a niece working at MSM for 2 decades alongside Nades et al, so let's live and let live. Some of us still need the print edition-lah atleast read the sports and international news as lugging around a PC is not practical. Further, we are puishing the whole chin gangz at MSM when it's mainly the balrdy Ed=itors who mis-behave as His Master'sVoiz! I conveyed via Bro Capt Yusof a msg to Haris I that a token boycott/galcott in principle -- yes, on Tuesdays -- is a good compromise. At least we can have time/dime wit' Morrie!:)

PS: Oh, I see Capt Karm, let's adjohn to Lucky Plaza, Lingam may soon attract too many VK-tioners and the food may jest turn un=hygienik wit' a splash of sea-water-arSENik from DU (h)!
