I Smell a Rat
The speed with which private investigator Balasubramaniam made an about turn, less than 24 hours, was mind boggling to say the least. Read the Malaysiakini report "PI retracts stunning statutory declaration", here.
I attended a press conference at the PKR headquarters in Tropicana Merchant Square, Petaling Jaya today, where Balasubramaniam's lawyer Americk Singh Sidhu (photo, left) reiterated that Balasubramaniam's statutory declaration filed on July 1 was made voluntarily.
Malaysiakini also reports, here, that earlier today Balasubramaniam had in another PC, retracted his earlier sworn statement which stunningly implicated DPM Najib with the murdered Altantuya Shaariibuu, which he said was made under duress. However he did not reveal as to who forced him to sign that statement. In place of that sworn statement, Balasubramaniam released a new statutory declaration which removed all mention of Najib in it! Sheeesh.
I smell a rat.
It is rather daunting to consider what some people will do for apom and thosay.
In view of all the above, I believe only a Royal Commission of Inquiry can remove all doubts and suspicions which have been planted, to decide once and for all who is lying and who is telling the truth.

Maybe the man just got cold feet, having realized how much he stands to lose if Anwar's plans go terribly wrong. well, maybe he got scared too. If that man really has young children like he said, then maybe he was thinking of them when he decided to retract and silent himself.
ReplyDeleteDuress means that he is under threat of losing his life, liberty, that of his family, children and etc. Now let’s examine this:
ReplyDeleteThere are 4 people who are involved. Anwar on one side and Najib, Musa Hasan and G. Patail on the other side. Between these two camps, who has make someone come under duress? The man who runs to embassies seeking shelter or the 3 men (Najib, Hasan & Patail) who control Malaysia’s entire Defence, Security, Intelligence, Criminal and Justice system? You don’t need to be even the most stupid person on earth to know that. Who detained him earlier? Who can detain him? Is it Anwar of the 3? The 3 are fighting for their political lives, wellbeing, largesse, Tunships, children positions (Remember Patail has already made his untrained child a senior person in his office), so they will simply do what they can in order to save themselves.
Furthermore, Bala simply removed the parts that refer to Najib and maintained the rest. That there is and was consistent manipulation of the system is in full glare of Malaysians. (Of course unless you reason like a dog-BigDog for that).
Since we are talking about two SD, let’s examine certain points.
ReplyDelete1. Yesterday, he was all happy and chatted with every journalist, local and foreign.
Today, he refused to talk or take a single question from anyone.
2. Yesterday, his meeting was announced 24 hrs before it was scheduled.
Today’s meeting was in an obscure hotel where few journalists were called in.
3. Yesterday, he was a happy man, very jovial and chattery.
Today, BN newspaper the Star wrote that he “was visibly perturbed”
4. Yesterday, he has informed the people and the journalists who were the people who have jailed him, harassed him, omitted his evidence and maltreated him.
Today, he didn’t say who has forced him. Who has given instructions. Who has mistreated him. He simply refused to talk but run out of the hall visibly disturbed with deep eyes.
5. Yesterday, he didn’t meet the police before he released his SD in front of world media and local as well,
Today (yesterday’s night) he has spent in BrickFields where he was immediately summoned after he has released his SD and was taken to the station by his former lawyer.
6. Yesterday, he has released a comprehensive SD touching on Najib, Musa Safri, Baginda, Police, Prosecution, Witnesses (etc),
Today, he has released the same SD but the parts that referred to Najib removed. All other people were retained. (Ha ha! I wonder who advises these people.)
7. Yesterday, he was a well combed man, with office shirt- and well prepared
Today, he was wearing a dirty T-Shirt with a cap and a was acrrying a plastic bag (black). As his new lawyer talked, he didn’t talk, chat, look up, greet or handshake anyone unlike yesterday.
……..These are simple observations that any intelligent being can pick and realise what’s going on. Furthermore, it is not Bala or Anwar who is in charge of the Defence, Security, Intelligence, Criminal and Justice system of this country but the 3 men accused of conspiracy and evidence manipulation. (Najib, Musa and Patail). You don’t need a child to know who uses force. It is not Anwar who seeks shelter at Embassies fearing for himself but the men who exercise that power over the said institutions.
PS: The Deputy PM doesn’t need Bala to retract any statement which is a perjury now and a criminal act in the penal code. He only needs to file a defamtion suit. Can’t he? If yo are innocent, why trouble yourself with Bala? Just go to the court and said you were defamed and there you go and get your due. When he was asked yesterday, he refused to file a suit, just like he and Rosmah refused to file a defamation suit against Raja Petra. If people are mudslinging you, insulting, incriminating you, and you are innocent, why not seek justice? It is because he knows in courts evidence will be produced and knowing that the Altantuya case has been pre-arranged (we have followed it as a nation), he hopes that by simply denying SDs and refusing to file suits, things will get cooled and he will move on. Heavenly no. Malaysia’s name is at stake. It is not about him, about Anwar or Badawi. It is about this nation and its people.
NB: If he has no confidence in the judiciary of this country by refusing to seek justice at the courts by filing defamation suits against his accusers, who else will trust the regime? The dead? Oh, I’m sorry…we are alive. Thanks to God!
Ten cups of kopi-O kau at Balai Polis Brickfields can clear the cobwebs from your mind and make you think soberly about the future of your three kids. I wouldn't judge Bala too harshly, in view of what happened to that pesky Mongolian temptress and extortionist (I was tempted to say contortionist but decided to keep my imagination in check). What would have helped in this case was if Bala had insisted on bringing his lawyer along when the cops reeled him in for questioning. After that explosive press conference on Thursday, he was in almost the same danger as Anwar. All I can say is: we have no option but to demand that Bijan, Petai and Musang go on extended leave - the more extended the better!

I agree with you as you said what some people will do for a apom and thosay.
ReplyDeleteI say like this : manusia mana boleh harap dengan burit dan duit.
Captain,
ReplyDeleteWhat Antares said is spot on. No further explanation is needed. Bala is dealing with some of the most powerful persons in the country who have everything to lose if his earlier SD were retained.
With his own safety and those of his family at stake, I don't blame him for the about turn. I would do the same myself if I were in his shoes.
Ya, it does not take a highly intelligent person to SEE the visible differences as documented by "anonymous" above. Even if one has not read any of the two SDs (which incidently has been splashed and re-splashed everywhere except the MSMs), all the signs are there to say "I smell a rat". No, it should be "I smell a BIG FAT rat"
ReplyDeleteHmm. I wonder if someone should translate the two SDs and post it everywhere for the benefit of our non English-speaking Rakyat.
By leaving Bala alone, Anwar and his group wanted to show one thing: that there is a clear consistence of manipulation in the criminal justice system by Najib, Musa Hasan and Patail who are interestingly the least professional people we have ever heard. Anwar wanted to show that they (The police-Najib-Musa-Ghani) always fabricate evidence, manipulate the system and cow people. What makes it even more inspiring is that Bala just made his 1st SD in front of the world media while laughing and saying…“Oh, if you spend one night in those joils…you will sign…” (etc). So Anwar has scored big here. Even before the evidence is produced against Najib in relation to Altantuya, by forcing Bala to retract the parts that are related to Najib and leaving the rest in tact makes it more potent. ASP Tony who has jailed Bala before and Musa Safri of Najib’s office and all other accusations were left alone but Najib’s part removed. That there is clear conspiracy and consistent manipulation has been established. The Star, a BN leaflet did a marvellous job by showing a dejected, teary-eyed and forlorn Bala crying to the Heavens unlike the earlier jovial, happy, chatty and engaging Bala the previous day. The damage has been done and I’m of the opinion that Anwar was deliberate in releasing Bala so two objectives are attained:
ReplyDelete1. To show the dark forces who manipulate the system, cow witnesses, omit evidences, conspire to cheat and deceive.
2. To discredit the SDs so that in order for Altantuya to get justice, the judge(s) will have to examine afresh and demand to know which SD represents the truth and this is what Najib is avoiding. The matter going to court and that’s why he has refused to file defamation suit against Bala and Raja Petra despite the fact that he is obliged to do if he is innocent. In either way, the damage has been done, the manipulation already established and there can be conclusion to Altantuya’s case unless the SDs are examined by a court of law and lawyers and you know what that means and who has been doing all he can to avoid such outcome and fate.
I have witnessed a country ravaged by a civil war and one day as part of an NGO we were walking, then we came along some thugs who were part of the fighters, there were two girls and some of us. Then one girl asked the other, "these boys are known to harass girls and rape them...what should we do in case they demand."? She hesistated. As they argued, we were ambushed. Stripped naked and the girls cried and surrendered. I remember one's cry: "Pliz I will give you..., pliz don't harass me...do it slowly. I'm your sister. I will give you. Spare my life." and They did. They simply wanted to save their lives. All those who were involved were Muslims (Somalia). So how do you expect Bala not to buckle and surrender when his life is under threat and that of his family?
ReplyDeleteI hope Bala and family is OK ...
ReplyDeleteAnalysis - Sodomy Allegation and SDs; Who the real conspirators are? The invincible and power 3rd party behind all this?
ReplyDeleteLet's track the issue and see if we can detect who the real conspirators are likely to be.
Anwar's people accuse Najib as being the conspirator in the sodomy allegation, and vice versa i.e. Anwar's people meanwhile being accused of masterminding the statutory declarations (SD) implicating Najib.
But is there a possibility that there is an invisible yet powerful third party who is conspiring to ignite a war between Anwar and Najib?
Let's find out.
1) It would be extremely foolish for Najib to meet Saiful at the comfort of Najib's residence barely a few days before Saiful's police report was leaked to the media, if Najib is really part of the conspiracy to smear Anwar. And I don't think Najib is that foolish. It looks more as though Najib is being set-up by a third party.
2) Why would Saiful would want to meet Najib first before lodging a police report? Who suggested to Saiful to meet Najib and who facilitated his meeting with Najib? The same third party?
3) How come it wasn't the police but Anwar that leaked Saiful's police report to the media? Who gave such info to Anwar? The same third party?
4) A photo of Saiful and Najib's aide, and photos of Saiful with 3 other Ministers appeared on the internet in the middle of the night i.e. within hours of Anwar's press conference. Is it the same third party, who has a 'file' on Saiful who sent such photos to Anwar's camp in order to link Najib to the accusation?
5) Anwar claimed to have recently obtained some evidence linking the IGP and AG to some wrongdoings. Again, the same third party sent that dossier to Anwar?
6) Balasundram claimed that he made the 1st SD under duress. Is it the same third party that forced Bala to make that 1st SD?
7) Anwar claims the DPM's office is plotting to assassinate him. Who feed him such ridiculous info? The same third party again?
[Balasubramaniam's retraction statutory declaration was affirmed before commissioner of oaths Zainal Abidin Muhayat, bearing an address that has been traced to Zul Rafique & Partners - a pro-establishment law firm owned by Zulkifly Rafique who is Federal Territories minister Zulhasnan Rafique's brother. Raja Petra has many articles on this legal firm]
An invisible and powerful third party behind all the above?
Think about it.
Now, assuming if Anwar's sexual tendencies is true as alleged (even 10 judges agreed with that. See
1) Dr M: Court ruling doesn't mean Anwar didn't do it
2) "If we count, we will find that all the 10 judges who heard the case of Anwar sodomising Azizan (Abu Bakar, his former family driver) agreed that Anwar committed sodomy, although the two (judges) used technical reasons to not find him guilty," he said in his blog Che Det.
i) Is it a possibility that Saiful (being a jambu..) is being 'planted' in Anwar's office as a way to 'induce and trap' Anwar (even without Saiful realising he is being used) by the same third party? (Well, one way is to find out from Saiful who suggested to him and facilitated his entry into Anwar's office).
2) Is there a possibility that there sodomy case did happen as alleged (as it was a trap laid by the third party using Saiful even without the latter's knowledge), and its exposure is however being manipulated to link to Najib (again, by the same third party)? So that a war will ignite between Anwar and Najib?
No doubt such exposure at the end of the day is putting the Government in a bad light, thanks to Anwar's powerful spin and propaganda machine. No doubt Paklah as the head of the Govt is the one affected since confidence in his Govt is being eroded by claims of conspiracy and link to a murder case etc.
But such bad publicity for the Govt has no immediate and tangible impact at all since the next general election is 4-5 years away!
Having said that, however, if we were to compare between Paklah, Najib and Tun Dr. M, the impact of such allegations (both alleged sodomy and SD linking to Altantuya's murder) have varying effect on the three of them, with Paklah being the least affected!
Why?
The mainstream media is having a full day recapping the recent sodomy allegation to the 1998 sodomy charge against Anwar; implying that a political conspiracy was hatched by the previous Administration at that time, . thus putting Tun in a bad light. Even the IGP and AG are now accused by Anwar to be part of the conspirators back then.
At the same time, the Statutory Declarations (By Bala and RPK) gave bad publicity to Najib.
Despite all these, notice that Anwar (through Wan Azizah) actually met Paklah to seek help and assurance from him. So in essence, Paklah personally is not affected (in the court of public opinion) at all by those allegations. But Najib and Tun, yes.
Assuming that there is indeed an invisible and powerful third party which plotted and hatched the conspiracies to pit the two camps (Anwar's and Najib's) with each other, what is their main motive then?
Well, one can't help but notice that the ONLY major political event coming up is the UMNO elections due at the end of the year!
With UMNO's divisions in at least four states, UMNO's Management Committee (Najib, Muhyiddin, Rafidah, Hishamuddin and Noraini) and even the majority of Supreme Council members putting strong pressure on Paklah to step down, Paklah's position looks increasingly untenable. Judging from the mood on the ground, there are even talks that some forces are hatching that Paklah won't get enough nominations from UMNO divisions to even qualify to run as President!
Since Najib has indicated that he hasn't decided whether to contest the presidency (thus implying that he is open to being nominated as President), the real battle taking place now is actually on the ground in UMNO's over 200 division. And not in the media!
The only way (that the conspirators think?) for Paklah to survive politically is to ensure that 'dirt' sticks on his successor hoping that either one of these two things may happen;
1) Najib may succumb due to the pressure and declare publicly (or even privately to the Divisions) that he will not accept nominations to the post of President (Who knows maybe the 'attacks' on him may stop after that?)
2) Even if he does not do that and willing to be nominated instead, the bad publicity from those allegations (they hope) may deter UMNO Divisions from nominating him as President since he is tainted.
Makes sense?
Now, isn't it clear from the analysis above that the third party (if it exists) is not only pitting Anwar against Najib, but is also 'screwing' both of them as well?
Isn't it clear that Tun Dr. M's name is also being dragged in the mud as well from the sodomy allegations? (kiling two birds wil one stone, eh?)
Isn't it clear that the clear winner in both cases is actually Paklah? Mere coincidence?
Now the question is – At the end of the day, will we actually get to know the truth what happened in both cases (sodomy allegation against Anwar & Altantuya murder case)?
Or a round of deception for political expediency will take place, yet again?
