How did these jokers pass muster?

Looking at UMNO's line up as they play musical chairs, one begs to ask the question.

I have absolutely no respect for jokers* who cannot make it on their own steam but have to hang on to daddy's coattails to get to their exalted status. Heading the list is a mama's boy whose very integrity is suspect and stinks to high heaven. O boy.

And then there are the has-beens who think we all have short memories.

That the country's leadership will be decided by 2000-odd class F contractors and their ilk sends shivers down me old timbers.

Surely we Malaysians deserve better.

* Tun Dr M's word, not mine.

  2. Captain and all readers,

We have read enough; we have heard enough; we have written enough; we have spoken enough.

Is there any one person who can drive the nail into all these coffins of injustice, selective persecution, blattant corruption and allegations that never get investigated?

If none, we are a doomed rakyat. No?

  4. Salam Capt,

I had posted earlier on this subject of selecting the leaders of our country. Like it or not, the choice of who becomes the Prime Minister of Malaysia is in the hands of a select few UMNO delegates. The sweeteners are already out. The delegates would be milking their worth out from the prospective candidates. No wonder our country is in the pits.

Got to hand it to you Capt... 2,ooo Class F contractors and their ilk, heheheh... that's a new one for me :-)

  8. Hi Dad,

I'm a-thinking this country is turning into a joke with a really, not funny punchline that's being repeated over and over again, ad nauseam.

Hence, the desire to migrate....not that other countries are any better...it'll probably be a joke too...at least, for me, it'll be a new joke.

The problem with this joke is that we can't say, "Thanks but no thanks.....next?!"

We have to sit through this entire theatrical performance, tied to our chairs, with no intervals. If only someone was brave enough to throw a rotten egg at the performers....oh wait a minute, someone did...but he got thrown out of the theatre....

Where's that basket of rotten eggs when you need it???

  9. When a couple of monkeys joined in the race for the UMNO Deputy President's post you know that the party has become a joke and beyond repair.

And into the abyss UMNO shall sink, but it has no business dragging the whole country down with it.

  10. i browse through your blogs article and it seem that the sore of UMNO really got into you.

just wonder which one of those in the market are yours to pick? PKR?
    PAS? DAP? any??

we malaysian has had to put some stand in this. i failed to notice of yours. or maybe you should stand as candidates to make things right or is it?

with much respect to you I'm no contractors of any class but well to do than you. still i find time to check and balance something in umno though not actively. we need this party to stand for our next generations to come if i may say sir.

no hope planted in PKR or PAS for that matter that could guarantee our child and grandchild well being and to those of critics especially those who add; you as dad i might say the jokes would be on her when her kins fell out or less intelligent to make it through even the govt schools later.

think as you may the future of our generation. not by complaining without brain instead why not we complainer use our rights to be the voice in the real world rather hiding behind these closed doors. join your local cawangan or bahagian. make an impact. table your motion rather than being disgruntle fool in the net.

those of the above commentator who already in thank you that's the spirit.

    thanks for posting sir.

    CHEERS

  12. Jokers passing muster. How apt. That's also known as the universal lowering of the bar. Standards have dropped everywhere...be they in the types calling themselves leaders, corporations that put greed above everything else, schools that produce mediocrity, academics flaunting their plagiarism talents, bodeking taking precedence over substance, taking a ride in a taxi and labeling it outer space exploration, hitching a ride up the peak and calling it the conquest of Everest..ad nauseum.

Look at all the symptoms of this malaise. I won't even go into the types running for high office...you have done it well. Schools fail so we send kids for tuition, water supply is questionable hence the ubiquitous water filter in front of every gate, police busy with their own agenda, rakyat pays for private security and protection, poor enforcement of civil rules the innocent suffer the consequences, etc, etc.

Think of the double whammy suffered by ordinary citizens. We pay taxes to the government for all the aforementioned services, then we also pay again to private enterprises. Think of how much money we actually "waste" for this double jeopardy which could go toward a better quality of life for ourselves, our children, and the country as a whole. In economics its called fungibility. Poor allocation of resources...not because we want to but because we HAVE to.

The father who risks his and the lives and limbs of 5 of his kids on the motorbike just because he cannot afford a decent motor car because its cost is bloated by unnecessary duties, inefficient costings, poor productivity. In all likelihood he is also skimping on good nutrition, decent clothing and a proper home for his kids.

Make no mistake. Poor choices of leaders, make for poor decisions by inept and corrupt leaders, make for a basket-case economy. Leading to general decline in the overall quality of life for all.

Have we not often wondered that with all the blessings that this nation has been bestowed, why is it that poverty has not been consigned to the dustbin, and that we could have stood proud among the ranks of the enlightened, prosperous, well-educated nations of the world.

Instead the national preoccupation occupying our waking hours seems to be who should lead this nation. And the sad thing is we don't seem to have many good choices.

Only the jokers in the pack. Or as poet Burns said, "a parcel of rogues" masquerading as leaders with pretenses of fighting for agama, bangsa, dan negara.

  13. Hi again Dad,

I've just got to respond to this dnl guy.

I'm a member of UMNO (shockingly enuff, but not for long).

Every single meeting I've been to, always has the bigwigs invoking "bangsa, agama dan negara".

    And, always in that order.

    "Bangsa" before "negara"???

    "Bangsa" before "agama"???

This does not seem racist to anyone??? Hello???

How can anyone trust a group of people who say they are not playing racial politics when in party meetings, the above invocation is always uttered???

    Such duplicity! Such shamelessness!

"we need this party to stand for our next generations to come if i may say sir."......yeah, right, En. dnl. We really need this bunch of opportunistic morons advocating racial intolerance to the ignorant masses, while they rob the country of its dignity and wealth. We need them....NOT!!!

How each of us want to oppose or not oppose this injustice...is our choice. Even if we don't do anything, even if we are merely belly-aching behind closed doors (as he so cheerfully mentioned)...it is still our individual choice.

In other words, sticks and stones, En. dnl.

I respect your opinion....now, respect mine.

  14. We call ourselves a democracy, but in reality we are anything but. For 51 years, we've had little or no say in who our prime minister will be. 2000-odd umno members decide for the rest of us.

And the component parties of barisan national are fine with this? Apparently, we are fine with this to - for we've voted them into power at every general election, bar one and here only half-heartedly.

So what do we do about it? What can we do? Nobody in government today would even want to think about changing the status quo.

Will it be any different under PKR? Will the pm be from PKR, or can he come from any of its components?

  15. wELL JUST BECAUSE DURING THE UMNO MEETING THEY SHOUT BANGSA DAN NEGARA NEGARA BANGSA OR HOWEVER YOU ARRANGE IT DOES IT MEAN IT'S A BORING ISSUE FOR YOU?

WHY NOT USE YOUR CONSTRUCTIVE IDEAS TO PUNCH THROUGH THE PROCESS GET YOURSELF ELECTED AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD RATHER COMPLAINING AND YAPPING TO THE MUCH OF THIS CYBER SPACE.

WILL YOUR VOICE EVER BE HEARD? HELLLLOOOOOO.........

GET A JOB. AS OF THE LAST COMMENTS THIS SHOULD BE YOUR QUESTION

    PATRICIA SAID ;

Will it be any different under PKR? Will the pm be from PKR, or can he come from any of its components?

WELL WILL YOU? WHO IS HE FIGHTING FOR? FOR WHAT PURPOSE? CAN YOU GUARANTEE THAT HE IS NOT TURNING HIMSELF INTO ANOTHER JOKER

We really need this bunch of opportunistic morons advocating racial intolerance to the ignorant masses, while they rob the country of its dignity and wealth. We need them....NOT!!!

RACIAL INTOLERENCE YOUR HEAD LAA... WHOIS THE ONE INCITING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHO IS THE ONE COMPALAINING ABOUT JAWI WRITINGS? WHO IS THE ONE COMPLAINING OF NOT ENOUGH BABI SERVED IN THE HOTELS IN MALAYSIA WHO IS THE ONE SAYING THAT MALAY WAS ALSO IMIGRANTS LIKE OTHERS.

DID YOU EVER GET DISCOUNT FOR BUMI PURCHASE FOR HOUSES AND PROPERTIES? DO YOU OR YOUR NIECE AND NEPHEW WENT IN SMOOTHLY INTO LOCAL U THROUGH MALAY QUOTA. DID YOU EVER OBTAIN ANY SCHOLARSHIP FROM GOVERNMENT OR DID YOUR PARENTS EVER RECEIVED SUBSIDIES FROM GOVERNMENT. WOI...... WAKE UP.

DID WE EVER TORTURED AND KILLED THOSE CHINESE AND INDIANS TRADER OUTSKIRT AND LUMP THEM IN THE CITIES TO CONTROL AND ASK THEM TO CHANGE THEIR NAMES TO SOUND MORE LOCAL?

REMEMBER THIS WAS SEMENANJUNG TANAH MELAYU ... OR SHALL WE SAY PENINSULA OF MALAY BEFORE. DID WE OR DIDNT WE SHARE WITH THEM OUR LANDS AND ECONOMY?

HOW FAR BETTER ARE YOU THAN THOSE PEOPLE? TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS. IF YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN 100 MILLIONS RINGGIT MALAYSIA GAIN FROM MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIES IN INDONESIA WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT THEN YOU COME AND TALK TO ME.

OTHERWISE BUZZ OFFFF YOU LOSERS. WE ARE NO RACIST BUT WE NEED PALCE TO LIVE HAPPILY. MISTAKES WAS DONE BY THOSE UMNO'S FOR FIVE YEARS. YES WE AGREE. BUT SHOULD WE CONTINUE TO PUNISH THEM FURTHER WHILE WE KNOW FOR FACTS THE SAME UMNO ONLY DIFFERENT PEOPLE GAVE US MUCH LIBERTY AND OPPORTUNITY TO WORKS AND PROSPER.

REMEMBER IF YOU DID NOT FIGHT FOR YOUR OWN RACE AND RELIGION AND COUNTRY WHOELSE WILL.

    SORRY FOR THE HARSH WORDS.

    CHERIO.

  16. Capt Yusof

Reading about UMNO, Khairy, Rembau and Linggi reminds me of Dr Mohamed Said the first elected Menteri Besar of Negeri Sembilan whom I believe was your saudara and mine as well.Which makes you my saudara too!

The Linggi Bugis are bound by adat temenggung while the majority Minangkabau in NS uphold adat perpatih as you know.

Tun Dato' Seri Ahmad Sarji is doing a soft launch of Galeri JASA, a small private gallery set up to commemorate the life and times of Dr Said.

Linggi saudara mara as well as friends, family and former colleagues of Dr Said will be at 101 Gedong Lalang, Ampangan Seremban 11.30am - 2.30pm.

Please join us with your family.
